It was refreshing to deal with an Enforcement Officer who constantly kept in contact with ourselves, advised us what was happening and who was so persistent, in the face of substantial opposition in getting the job done.

Profiles of Our AHCEO's
Claire Sandbrook:
Authorised High Court Enforcement Officer
Shergroup Responsibilities
Chief Executive Officer
Claire Sandbrook is a lateral thinking HCEO who never does it the way everyone else does! Why? Well she believes passionately about “Effective Enforcement” – not just talking about it but doing it! She believes in statistical analysis, data to support her results, and transparency. She has created a team around her of like minded, creative and hardworking colleagues who deliver what it says on the tin, “seize and sell”.
Her career began 25 years ago working in the Sheriff’s Office at the bottom of the rung as an Audio Typist for her mentor, Alastair Black, CBE, DL. She worked her way through law school to become a partner in the then Burchell & Ruston and became Chief Executive Officer of Shergroup in May 2004. Her vision is to build the enforcement of a judgment into a professional financial service, with a balanced approach embracing a number of related disciplines such as credit management and litigation.
As well as developing the Sheriffs Lodgment Centre in 1998, Claire master minded the plan to deliver Sherforce as a national team of trained and pro-active enforcement officers and now manages the Sherforce team to create a first rate enforcement service.
She is the author of four books on enforcement and related topics and is currently working on her fifth book for Sweet & Maxwell on “Enforcement of a Judgment – 10th edition”. Claire offers a consultancy service on the enforcement of court judgments and can be contacted at her email address of c-sandbrook@shergroup.net
